Holiday Bars With Happy Hours

Get into the holiday spirit before your spirits with a stroll through the decor-adorned Jefferson Hotel on the way to their lobby bar, Lemaire. Every inch of their lobby is sprinkled with poinsettias, garland and twinkling lights. But the real show-stopper is the 30-foot Christmas tree at the bottom of the main stairs in the middle of the rotunda.

Ready for the season, but not the cold temps? Transport yourself to the tropics at Island Shrimp Co’s Rum & Reindeer holiday pop-up. Enjoy seasonal cocktails in decorative cups and dine on all your favorite island delicacies (thinking of you, hot crab dip with wonton chips). Optional, but highly recommended: book one of their igloos for you + 3 friends to really spice up the evening.

Is apres golf a thing? Fulfill your dreams of a white Christmas at Hotel Greene’s Winterfreuden pop-up. Play a round of mini-golf and enjoy holiday drinks at this hotel-turned-golf park that’s decked out like a ski lodge for the holiday season.

If you’re looking for a little more refined relaxation for your happy hour, try posting up in the Lobby Bar at the Quirk Hotel. This pink-themed hotel is full of cute details, especially during the holidays. Stop by their gigantic pink Christmas tree at the front of the lobby for the perfect holiday photo opp.

Very into vodka? Check out Richmond’s potato vodka distillery during December for their Santa’s Cocktail Shop pop-up. Their pop-up menu features four expertly crafted holiday vodka cocktails like a Peppermint White Russian and a Saint Nicholas Hot Cocoa. You can sip your cocktails inside the distillery or outside on their covered and heated patio.

This historic Richmond restaurant with a 3-story atrium in the middle is grand, but it really shines when the holiday decor is up. Pro tip: After you’re nice and warm from your drinks, walk next door to the James Center for an iconic Richmond light display.
